{Inspiration Board} Enlaced Details

Wedding trends are constantly changing and aren't always easy to replicate. The wedding themes we see today have been more eclectic than ever, combining multiple elements from a variety of different themes into one great big idea. You may be one of the few people who may not know where to start, so here’s a suggestion.

Why not start with lace details? It adds the perfect touch of elegance to a wedding without overwhelming more antique or rustic elements. Lace will become one of your best friends this year when trying to re-create a shabby chic wedding of your own. It’s a popular trend in fashion, interior and design this year so take advantage of it!

{Trending} Vintage Glam

Vintage inspired weddings were a hot crowd-pleaser in 2012, so it is no surprise that this spring it will be making a strong return - with a unique twist. We saw a lot of modest color palettes, DIY projects, lace, and personalized trinkets last year - while these are still very much sought after, you can expect much more razzle dazzle and sparkle accents to accompany this look in 2013.

With a revamped version of the Great Gatsby classic hitting theaters early May - we are seeing this love for 1920's glamour impacting bridal trends now, more than ever. So, a little sparkle here and there mixed with  some shabby chic elements is ideal when planning around this theme.

Here is a very brief snapshot of what a marriage between these two very different styles would look like: Slinky lace/silk embellished gowns, fluttered sleeves, crystal and pearl headpieces/necklaces/bracelets, pleated bridesmaid dresses, ribbons, black ties, over the top cakes, slightly tarnished silver decorations, patterned prints, jeweled floral bouquets, chandeliers, lockets, plated dinners, and artisanal cocktails.

{Color} Ideas for Spring Weddings

Selecting colors for your wedding may seem like a daunting task at first, but once you open yourself up to it, inspiration can be found all around you. With spring right around the corner, this time of the year provides plenty of room for creativity throughout all of your wedding planning.

For starters, look at the colors - pastels are soft and sweet and are easy to build off of. How about flowers? If you absolutely love them you're in luck. Spring is all about growth, therefore showcasing bright and cheerful floral arrangements is a great way to share what this season is all about.

There are countless examples online for spring weddings. However, I promise you will find it much more rewarding, more personal and ultimately more romantic if you sit down and take the time to reflect on what spring means to you both as a couple and then start piecing together the perfect look to fit your love.

Try this! Start by selecting your favorite spring color - pastels are great building blocks. Blues, pinks, purples, yellows, greens, etc - any color but in a more subtle tone will work for this theme. Choose a base color, and go from there.
